The Father Of Hormone Replacement Therapy For Men
With all the negative chatter in the world today, I try to promote and circulate positive, informative, uplifting, and helpful content.
So here we go…
If you have glanced through an in-flight magazine on any of the major airlines over the last 20 years, there is a good chance you have seen Dr. Jeffrey Life.
He was 72-year-old physician (with a 72-year-old face) and a 45-year-old body.
He was the first to bring into the public eye the importance of maintaining and restoring testosterone levels in men and became a walking billboard. He is considered the father of hormone replacement therapy in men.
The Decline In Hormone Production In a Man Is Andropause Or Male Menopause.
The decline in endogenously produced testosterone typically begins in the mid 40’s. It is slow and steady and therefore goes undetected for years. It’s not until your health, memory, body fat, strength and energy levels are so compromised that you know something isn’t right.
Dr. Jeffry Life brought much of the following low testosterone symptoms into the public’s attention.
Low testosterone symptoms:
Loss of motivation, no more “fire in your belly”
Less quality sleep
Loss of strength
Loss of muscle size and quality
Less overall energy
Loss of bone density and strength, is much harder to detect but it is occurring
Brain fog, memory loss
Decreased interest in sex
Fewer firm erections
Loss of skin tone
Increased risk of developing Type II Diabetes
Increased risk of cardiovascular issues
Greater risk of prostate cancer
Dr. Jeffrey Life began his medical career as a family physician. At age 57 his health was seriously compromised. He was considerably overweight putting him in an obese body mass index category. The size of his stomach made it difficult to even tie his shoes… this was a wake-up call.
A New Path And a New “Life”
His new focus was now on his health improvement. So he began to educate himself on better nutrition and exercise.
At the encouragement of his girlfriend, he entered Bill Phillip’s Body For Life 90 day transformation contest. And in 1998 won the Grand Champion title.
The Game-changing missing Link
However, as the years clicked off he realized he was losing the muscle he put on for his contest preparation. He was also regaining body fat. In addition, both his energy and libido were declining. As a physician, he was hearing more about anti-aging medicine. It was in the area of anti-aging that his knowledge grew tremendously as to the role hormones play in increasing muscle mass and reducing body fat.
After several months he was able to balance the hormone levels to that of a younger man. He quickly felt a new lease on life. He changed his family medical practice to a healthy aging practice and open The life Center for Healthy Aging in Charleston, West Virginia.
Dr. Life is passionate to reach the middle-aged plus public to restore their zest for life, just like he experienced. In 2012, at age 76, Men’s Fitness magazine included Dr. life in the top 25 fitness “Man of the Year”. All others were under 40 years of age!
Also in 2012, Dr. Life released his best selling book The Life Plan which created a huge impact on men’s health. He has continued his crusade through to today educating and inspiring others to new levels of health.
It’s never too late
As a lifelong health educator, this is another example of it’s never too late to start taking care of yourself. This may sound selfish, however, you are the most important person in your life. The better you take care of yourself, the better you can take care of others.
There never has been more justification for Botox.
Rocking body at 72 it be a rocking and body at 52
I am blown away with why more men don’t measure their testosterone. It’s such an easy fix with a big upside.
This guy has helped a number of my friends.
OK I will get my testosterone checked
